Advisory

Burlington Township Schools E-Notification

Dear Burlington Township Families,

We continue to make the safety and security of our school community our top priority.  The following is an update on some important safety, security and testing information that will take place in all of our schools beginning the afternoon of Thursday, February 13, 2020.  This year, our District has undertaken a significant additional step in improving our safety and security. We are implementing Project Guardian 2.0: Stay Alert! As with the original project, there are many phases to this project as well. We will be providing more detailed information regarding the work being done at a later date.

The purpose of this communication is to make you aware of work that will be done over the next few days.  During testing you may experience the following:
  • Flashing lights inside and outside of the buildings at various times
  • A "Lockdown" announcement will be made over the PA system, which will be heard both inside and outside of the building
  • New speakers for the PA system are being installed inside and outside the buildings which will also be tested. Music may be played during testing for extended periods of time and you may hear this in neighborhoods near the schools
Below you will find the schedule for the next few days.

Thursday, February 13, 2020
Testing will begin in the afternoon in all buildings, and may continue into late afternoon and early evening hours.

Friday, February 14, 2020, Saturday, February 15, 2020 and Monday, February 17, 2020
On Friday, February 14, the schedule for the testing will be:
8:00 A.M. -  High School and Middle School
11:45 A.M. - Fountain Woods School and Young School

Work will continue over the weekend through, Monday February 17, 2020.  Announcements will be made during testing, and music will be played for extended periods of time during testing, both inside and outside of the building. The work being done may continue into late afternoon and early evening hours.

We would like to apologize in advance to our residents if this testing causes any inconvenience.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we complete this important work.
