Clayton County Jail Contract Employee Arrested Tonight For Stealing An Inmate’s Debit Card. SHERIFF VICTOR HILL
A jail employee of TKC, industries, the company responsible for receiving and storing property of individuals housed in the Clayton County Jail, was arrested tonight for stealing a inmates debit/credit card.
After receiving a complaint from a inmate that their Wells Fargo credit/debit card was used while they was in custody, an investigation was ordered by the Sheriff. The former inmate obtained copies of her Wells Fargo bank statement identifying purchases that were made during the time they were in jail and receipts from several locations where the card was used. One location was the Wal-Mart located in Stockbridge, Ga.
Contact was made with Wal-Mart Corporate Headquarters and a request was made for the history of the card’s usage. Walmart provided photographic information identifying the location and time of the card’s usage and photographs of the user of the card. A review of the photographs provided positively identified jail contract employee Hyacient Ester Benjamin as the person that placed the card in the credit card reader. Benjamin’s employment photograph was also used to further positively identify her.
After Sheriff’s Investigators obtained a warrant for Benjiman, Sheriff Victor Hill had his elite Fugitive Squad pick her up. Benjiman is now facing the wall instead working in the property room at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail better known as “The Hill-ton”.
