WINTER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT mix rain and snow less than 1in accum. FLASH FREEZE ROADWAYS
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CST
TONIGHT...
* WHAT...A mix of rain and wet snow will continue into the evening
hours. Some additional light snow accumulations of less than one
inch are possible. A flash freeze of wet roadways and other
surfaces is likely tonight, as much colder air surges southward.
Strong and gusty north winds around 40 mph will also accompany
the cold air.
* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, and southeast
Kansas.
* WHEN...through the late evening hours.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions especially for
untreated surfaces tonight as colder air spreads southward. This
could cause a refreeze of wet and slushy roads tonight,
possibly impacting the Thursday morning commute. In addition,
the very cold air will combine with strong north winds to create
sub zero wind chills for late tonight and early Thursday
morning.
