Flood Watch until 08:00AM Thursday

...Flooding Potential Will Continue through Thursday Morning... .The Flood Watch remains in effect through early Thursday Morning to account for a second round of heavy rainfall that will impact the entire Mid-South on Wednesday. An additional 1 to 2 inches is expected with possible higher amounts. Due to saturated grounds across the entire region, flooding of low lying areas, creeks, local rivers, and roadways will be possible with this additional rainfall. In addition to areal flood risk over the watch area, the threat of river flooding will increase significantly through during the latter half of the watch period. The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, and West Tennessee, including the following areas, in East Arkansas, Phillips. In North Mississippi, Alcorn, Benton, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Coahoma, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee, Marshall, Monroe, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union, and Yalobusha. In West Tennessee, Hardin and McNairy.

* Through Thursday morning

* An additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall with locally higher amounts are possible over saturated soils.

* Low-lying areas and areas adjacent to rivers may flood.
