We're pleased to announce our recent partnership with Growth Works Rescue Recovery Peer Support Services. This partnership will allow us to better serve those we come into contact with who have a substance dependency and want help.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE SERVICES PROVIDED?
- Collaborate with St. Mary Livonia Hospital to provide services.
- Meet individually with clients to introduce recovery concepts, offer encouragement, and share personal experiences and strengths.
- Educate individuals on overdose prevention and Narcan administration.
- Provide recovery resources to individuals and their families.
- Certified Peer Recovery Coaches stay actively engaged with individuals after and encounter and connect them to treatment and recovery support services.
- Coaches maintain contact with individuals for up to 1 year after an encounter.
WHY DO PEER SUPPORT PROGRAMS WORK?
- They decrease the risk of continued substance abuse and overdose.
- They reduce hospital admission rates.
- They increase the sense that treatment is individual and supportive of the client's needs.
- They are perceived as non-judgemental and promote a sense of camaraderie.
- They help to increase self-esteem and confidence.
