SMPD arrests burglary suspects as he walks out of San Mateo home
 
San Mateo Police Department arrested a suspect for burglary after a witness alerted police to a man climbing into a home’s enclosed patio area. Officers apprehended the suspect as he was exiting the home with an armful of electronics.
 
San Mateo, CA – On Monday, February 10, 2020, at 10:48 a.m., San Mateo Police Department officers were called to an apartment complex in the unit block of N El Camino Real on reports of a burglary in progress. The caller told police he witnessed a suspicious man climb into an enclosed patio and enter an apartment through a sliding door. Police officers quickly arrived on scene and saturated the area. As the suspect was walking out of the apartment’s front door with electronics in his hands, officers took him into custody. The burglar was transported to San Mateo County Jail and booked on a multitude of charges.
