Narrative:
Sheriff’s detectives arrested Christopher Schneider for the murder of his mother.

On February 4, 2020, Ventura County Fire Department and Thousand Oaks Police Department personnel responded to a call of a subject not breathing at a residence in the 900 block of Woodlawn Drive in Thousand Oaks.  Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive adult female with multiple stab wounds.  The female victim was identified as Nancy Schneider.  There was also a conscious adult male with additional injuries that were later determined to be self-inflicted.  The male subject was identified as Nancy’s son, Christopher Schneider.  Both Nancy and Christopher were transported to a local hospital, where Nancy was pronounced deceased.  Christopher was treated for his injuries and remained hospitalized for several days.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Christopher and Nancy were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into violence.  Christopher stabbed Nancy multiple times and he later attempted suicide by stabbing himself.

On February 9, 2020, Sheriff’s Major Crimes detectives arrested Christopher for murder.  Christopher was transported to the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility where he remains in custody on $3,000,000.00 bail.  Christopher is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on February 11, 2020.
