1/31 – 11:47 p.m. – An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 100 block of East Washington Street. Upon investigating he found seven teenagers occupying the vehicle, some of which were not utilizing seatbelts as required by law. Upon investigating further, items of drug paraphernalia, suspected cannabis, vaping pens, and empty alcohol bottles were located in the vehicle. The juvenile driver was charged with Speeding and a violation of graduated driver’s license law for Unlawful Number of Passengers. A Smithton Officer was summoned to assist in the incident. The parents of the juveniles were contacted.
