Community cameras helped officers locate and arrest 2 suspects in a stolen vehicle Sunday night.

Stolen Vehicle Arrests - Two arrested after failing to yield for officers in a stolen vehicle around 11:00 p.m. Sunday night.

At 11:01 p.m., Officers located an occupied stolen vehicle (1992 Honda Accord, stolen out of Hayward) at Stevenson/ Davis after a notification from an ALPR camera located at Stevenson/I880. The vehicle pulled into the Avalon Apartment complex where a high risk stop was attempted.

The suspect driver failed to yield for officers and put the vehicle in reverse, backed into the police vehicle and collided with another parked vehicle. The suspect then drove across the grass pedestrian way and abandoned the vehicle in the apartment complex.

Officers quickly set up a perimeter and quickly detained the female passenger, 24 year old Elizabth Hudick, a San Leandro resident, behind a building. A Sergeant located the male suspect, Andre Poole, a 40 year old Hayward resident, at a neighboring apartment complex and detained him. A search of the vehicle was conducted and several shaved keys as well as a punched ignition were found. A methamphetamine pipe and a metal tool commonly used as a window punch was found on Poole's person.
