Jordan Serafin arrested in assault investigation

Correction made to time of incident

On Saturday February 8th, around 6:15 p.m.., a recruit officer with the Anchorage Police Department (APD) was involved in an altercation at a residence in Wasilla. The officer was off duty at the time. Our partners with the Alaska State Troopers (AST) responded to investigate. Officer Jordan Serafin was arrested. He was remanded to Department of Corrections custody at Mat-Su Pretrial facility and faces charges of Burglary 1 and Assault 4.
Officer Serafin has been placed on administrative leave without pay, pending the conclusion of an internal investigation by APD. He has been with APD since 2019 and has not yet completed field training.
“We appreciate the professionalism of our close partners, the Alaska State Troopers, in the handling of this event,” said Chief Justin Doll, Anchorage Police Department. “This type of behavior is unacceptable for anyone in our community, and especially cannot be tolerated when it is a law enforcement officer. APD is committed to keeping the community informed in order to maintain the trust that is essential to our mission.”
