Advisory

SIGNIFICANT THREAT FOR WIDESPREAD FLASH FLOODING, THREAT FOR SEVERE WEATHER MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY

The threat for flash flooding has increased to significant for our area beginning tomorrow thru Wednesday. 5"-8" of rainfall is expected with higher amounts possible. This could create widespread flash flooding of low lying areas and cause flooding of streets and roads throughout the county.

DO NOT drive through floodwaters.

USE WATER SPARINGLY-  flash floods cause an overload on drainage systems and this will help provide some relief to the drainage systems throughout the county.

We are working on getting shelters on standby in case evacuations are needed. A list will be published tomorrow morning.

There is also a marginal risk of severe weather Monday in the southeast portion of the county and a slight risk of severe weather countywide on Wednesday. We will provide latest forecast on the severe weather as it progresses over the next few days

NOW IS THE TIME to review or develop your disaster plan and disaster supply kits.
