Winter Weather Advisory until 03:00PM

...QUICK HITTING HEAVY SNOWFALL EXPECTED TO RESULT IN A PERIOD OF HAZARDOUS TRAVEL LATER THIS MORNING AND INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...A period of moderate to heavy snow with rates of 1 inch or more per hour possible for a short time during the mid morning to early afternoon. Total snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches for counties south of I-88 and 2 to 4 inches for counties north. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph at times.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central and northeast Illinois.

* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 3 PM CST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...High snow rates, combined with gusty southeasterly winds will likely lead to roads becoming snow covered for a time and hazardous travel.

* AFFECTED AREAS: DE KALB ... KENDALL ... OGLE ... LA SALLE ... GRUNDY ... LIVINGSTON ... LEE ... FORD
