Please be aware the U.S. National Weather Service has put out a HIGH WIND WARNING for portions of central and southern New Jersey. The high wing warning will remain in effect from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. this evening. Southwest to west winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are expected. An initial surge of strong to damaging winds will be between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., with a secondary surge between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 pm.
Damaging winds will result in tree damage and downed power lines. Scattered to widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. People should avoid being outside in wooded areas and around trees and branches. Use caution when driving.
If you experience a power outage, we encourage our residents to contact JCP&L at   1-888-544-4877. Please do not expect your neighbors to report the power outage. Please DO NOT contact the police department inquiring about power restoration.
