BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Flood Warning National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC 747 PM EST Thu Feb 6 2020 NCC149-161-SCC083-070645- /O.NEW.KGSP.FA.W.0011.200207T0047Z-200207T0645Z/ /00000.0.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Rutherford NC-Polk NC-Spartanburg SC- 747 PM EST Thu Feb 6 2020 The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a * Flood Warning for... Rutherford County in western North Carolina... Polk County in western North Carolina... Spartanburg County in Upstate South Carolina... * Until 145 AM EST Friday. * At 740 PM EST, emergency management reports numerous roads remain closed across Polk, Rutherford, and Spartanburg counties due to earlier flash flooding. The heavy rainfall has ended and no additional significant rain is expected, but streams remain well out of their banks across the area and flooding of adjacent low-lying areas, roads, and low-water crossings will continue for several more hours as streams crest and recede. * Please obey all barricades and avoid all flooded roads. It is extremely difficult at night to assess the depth of flooding and roads may be damaged or washed away underneath the flood waters. Barricades remain in place until engineers can assess the stability of the road or bridge and ensure its safety. * Some locations that may continue to experience flooding include... Spartanburg, Forest City, Rutherfordton, Columbus, Boiling Springs SC, Spindale, Duncan, Lyman, Landrum and Cowpens. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Numerous roads, parking lots and bridges are threatened by heavy rain and rapidly rising streams and creeks. Please pay close attention to road signs indicating a flood-prone area. Obey all barricades, even if water is not currently over the road. Barricades are in place for your protection and indicate areas where flooding can occur rapidly and without warning. && LAT...LON 3561 8172 3558 8169 3535 8170 3518 8177 3518 8187 3493 8175 3478 8215 3485 8223 3519 8222 3519 8236 3529 8235 3539 8226 3545 8228 3547 8224 3552 8223 3552 8214 3555 8200 3552 8197 3554 8185 3559 8179
