Crime Prevention Alert from the Burr Ridge Police Department:

There has been an increase in burglaries to motor vehicles in Burr Ridge and the surrounding villages over the past few weeks.  The suspects in these crimes are searching for unlocked vehicles with the keys to the vehicles left inside. These crimes are occurring during the overnight hours.  The thieves are stealing purses, wallets, electronics, and other valuables and then using the identity and credit cards of the victims. 

Please protect yourself and your families by always locking your vehicles and keeping your outside residential lighting on.  Additionally, never leave the keys to your vehicle or garage door openers inside unlocked vehicles parked outside.

Anyone who observes a criminal act in progress or suspicious activity is asked to call 911 immediately and to not take any action that would place them in danger.
