Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland; February 5, 2020 ---- On 2/4/20 at approximately 6:05PM, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the area of New Windsor Road (Rt 31) and Medford Road for a reported motor vehicle collision. The collision involved a 2012 Honda Accord passenger car and a 2019 Freightliner Tractor with a 2015 Pott trailer.
The investigation found that the driver of the Honda Accord, Candida Odyli Tinoco Flores, a 48 year old female with a Silver Spring address, along with her passenger, Dania Lizeth Hernandez Rauda, a 52 year old female with a Rockville address, were traveling Southbound on Medford Road when the driver failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck by the Freightliner, which was travelling Westbound on New Windsor Road (Rt 31) being driven by a 61 year old male from Dundalk. Both occupants of the Honda Accord were pronounced deceased at the scene by Emergency Medical Personnel. The driver of the Freightliner was transported to Carroll Hospital Center with non-life threatening injuries. Based on the initial investigation, the driver of the Freightliner does not appear to be at fault in this collision. There were no indications of impairment observed during the initial investigation.
