Police Department Announces Promotion 
On January 31, 2020, the City of Janesville Police and Fire Commission approved the promotion of Officer Steven J. Carpenter to Sergeant.
Sergeant Carpenter is a 14 year veteran of the Janesville Police Department. He holds an Associate’s Degree from Blackhawk Technical College. Officer Carpenter has experience in the following areas: Field Training Officer, Crisis Intervention Officer, Neighborhood Liaison Officer, Honor Guard, Traffic Crash Reconstruction, Unmanned Aerial System, and Motorcycle Unit.
Sergeant Carpenter will be honored in a promotion ceremony at the police department on February 6, 2020.
