Police Asking for Assistance in Investigating an Attempted Murder
HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – February 1, 2020 – Hollister Police asking for help in investigating an attempted homicide.
On January31, 2020 around 8:41 pm officers received a call of shots fired on Rossi Court. Officers responded and found the victim, Ian Anya (18 years old), suffering from a gunshot wound. It was learned that Anya was attending a gathering and was shot once. Officers immediately rendered medical assistance to Anya until the Hollister Fire Department and paramedics arrived.
Anya was attending a gathering when he was confronted by persons who were not attending. A brief but heated argument ensued between Anya and the others. One of the suspects who confronted Anya produced a firearm and shot Anya once. The suspects fled and are still outstanding.
Even though there were many persons attending the gathering, the suspects have not been identified. Investigators are following all leads at this point and are asking for help from the community for tips or information that can lead to the arrest and conviction of those involved in this incident.
