Arrest made in connection to armed robberies

The Kingsville Police Department has made two arrest in connection with the armed robberies that occurred during the month of December in 2019.  The first robbery occurred on 12-18-19 at the Kingsville Food Store located at 1029 South Highway 77 at approximately 10:57 pm.  The second robbery occurred on 12-20-19 at the Sunny Mini Mart located at 429 East Santa Gertrudis Street at approximately 10:36 pm.   Aaron Barrera is currently being held in the Kleberg County Jail on two counts of Aggravated Robbery with each charge carrying a $100,000.00 bond.  The other subject in connection with the robberies is a male juvenile.  The Corpus Christi Police Department is also investigating two armed robberies that took place in their city and it is believed the same subjects are responsible for committing those robberies as well.  Information provided by Corpus Christi Police Detective Hemerly and Falfurrias Police Department Assistant Chief of Police E. Gonzalez were instrumental in the arrest of the suspects.  “Chief Torres praised the efforts of the Investigators of the Kingsville Police Department partnering with Corpus Christi Police Department and the Falfurrias Police Department, leading to the arrest and clearance of several crimes in multiple jurisdictions.”  The investigation is ongoing and more arrest will be made in connection with the robberies.
