INCIDENT: PC 211 – Strong Arm Robbery

LOCATION: Chase Bank - 20236 Highway 18, Apple Valley

SUSPECT(S): Black male juvenile, 17 years old, of Apple Valley
Black male juvenile, 15 years old, of Apple Valley

VICTIM: Adult male, resident of Apple Valley

SUMMARY:

On Monday, January 27, 2020 at approximately 3:28 pm, deputies were dispatched to a report of an assault and attempted robbery at Chase Bank located at 20236 Highway 18 in the Town of Apple Valley.

The victim was able to give Sheriff’s Dispatch descriptions of the two assailants and the information was relayed to responding deputies. Upon arrival, Deputy Tyler Loup contacted the victim inside the bank and learned the victim suffered minor injuries in the assault. The victim reported he was assaulted as he attempted to deposit money in the ATM at the bank and during the scuffle the two juveniles attempted to take his money. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which appeared to be non-life threatening.

Due to the description the victim provided, additional responding deputies were able to locate and detain both juveniles a short distance from the bank. The juveniles were taken into custody without incident and were later booked at High Desert Juvenile Detention Center for Strong Arm Robbery.
