Officers arrived just as the subjects began to drive away from the parking lot and initiated a traffic stop.
Officers contacted Jovon Jenkins, Doshanie Johnson, Jordan Henry, and Rayshaan Johnson. Jenkins was found to be on probation for similar crimes. Officers searched Jenkins’ vehicle and located the gift cards, tagged clothing believed to be stolen from other stores, and a police style baton.
After conferring with both Dick’s stores and Fairfield Police Department, Jenkins, D. Johnson, and Henry were arrested for burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. Jenkins was additionally arrested for unlawful possession of the baton. R. Johnson was arrested for an outstanding warrant for similar crimes. All were booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
According to Dick’s Loss Prevention, who are well versed in organized retail theft crews, the suspects have been captured on video committing thefts at several stores. Through information sharing, Petaluma Police Department will be assisting other agencies with their prosecutions of these suspects.
