Flood Warning

Flood Warning until 8:00 PM for small streams and low-lying areas. Do not drive through flooded roads.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams in... Central Montgomery County in southeastern Pennsylvania...Northwestern Philadelphia County in southeastern Pennsylvania...

* Until 800 PM EST.

* At 404 PM EST, after one to two inches of rain through the early afternoon, reporting gauges indicate flooding at Fort Washington.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include...Philadelphia, Norristown, Lansdale, East Norriton, Ambler, Plymouth Meeting, Germantown, Chestnut Hill, North Wales, Fort Washington,
Blue Bell, Flourtown, Spring House, Wyndmoor, Montgomeryville and Oreland.

This includes the following highways...
Pennsylvania Turnpike between exits 333 and 339. Northeast Extension near exit A20. Interstate 76 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 339 and 340.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
