On 01-21-20 at approximately 11:50 hours, officers responded to a call of a male adult bleeding and asking for help in the In-N-Out drive thru on the 1300 block of Grand Ave. The victim, on the 1300 block of N. Grand Ave., was approached by two males driving a compact car who attempted to rob him.  A fight began and one of the suspects stabbed the victim several times.  The victim smashed the rear window of the vehicle as both suspects fled in it with the victim’s hat.

A few minutes later, officers received a call of another stabbing victim on the 400 block of E. Alisal St. This subject, later identified as Jacob Cannon, age 21, of Covina, had a single stab wound to his abdomen and claimed he was assaulted in the city of Azusa. Officers noticed Cannon’s vehicles rear window was smashed out and matched the suspect vehicle description from the robbery on Grand Ave. S/Cannon was determined to be one of the suspect’s in the initial robbery and was wounded during crime.

Both the victim and Cannon were transported to a local hospital for their injuries and are expected to survive.

Cannon was later arrested for Robbery, 211 PC and Attempted Murder 664/187 PC.  He was eventually released from the hospital and booked on these charges at the Covina Police Department Jail.

The investigation continued and detectives were able to identify the second suspect as Christian David Camacho, age 23, of Covina who stabbed the victim.  Detectives were able to locate him as he left his home in Covina.  He was stopped by officers and taken into custody without incident.  He had injuries consistent with the crime.  He was booked at the Covian Police Department Jail for Robbery, 211 PC and Attempted Murder, 664/187 PC.     A search warrant was served as his home and evidence linking him to the crime was discovered at his home.
