Child Drowning Investigation

Location of Occurrence: 1200 Block of Parkwood Drive Novato, CA
On January 21st, 2020, at about 5:41 p.m., Novato Police Department officers along with Novato Fire personnel responded to the 1200 block of Parkwood Drive in the City of Novato regarding a possible drowning.
Responding officers arrived as Novato Fire paramedics began performing life-saving measures on a 3-year-old boy who was found unresponsive in the family pool. Novato Fire continued medical treatment and immediately transported the child to a local hospital. The child was later transferred to a Bay Area trauma center where he remains in critical condition.
The Novato Police Department is investigating the circumstances that lead to this unfortunate event. We will not be releasing the identity of the child or the family members involved in this incident. We ask that you respect their privacy during this difficult time.
