APD makes arrest in January 16th homicide case.

On January 17th, 2020, detectives with the Amarillo Police Department Homicide Unit obtained a warrant for Arttrell Jamon Travis, a 23 year old male, for the murder of Kendrick Freeman. On January 20th, officers located Travis in an apartment in the 2600 block of North Grand Street. He was arrested and booked into the Randall County Jail for his warrant. The investigation into the Homicide is ongoing.
***Original Release***
On Thursday, January 16, 2020, at 9:39PM, Officers were sent to an apartment complex in the 4100 Block of SW 45th on a shooting. When officers arrived, they found the victim, Kendrick Freeman, male, age 23 had been shot. AMS was called to the scene, however Freeman did not survive his injuries. The APD Homicide unit was called out to investigate. JP Houdashell ordered an autopsy on Freeman. Next of kin has been notified. The investigation is still ongoing.
