Personal Injury Traffic Crash


Sheriff Richard J. Behnke, reports that on 01/17/2020 at approximately 2210 hours his office was called to investigate a personal injury accident on Peavine Road near Oak Grove Street, in La Grange Township, Cass County Michigan.

Investigation shows that the 19 year old driver, Terry George III of Dowagiac, was traveling east bound on Peavine Road. The vehicle was unable to negotiate a curve and left the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle suffered heavy front end damage and the driver and backseat passenger, Ralph Richmond, a 17yr old from Dowagiac, suffered minor injuries. The driver was transported to Borgess Lee by Life Care EMS and the passenger was transported to Borgess Lee by personal vehicle. The third passenger, 17yr old Jaden Brown, was uninjured.


Seatbelts were worn in the crash. Alcohol and drugs are believed to be a factor in the traffic crash, however the crash remains under investigation.
