INCIDENT:      PC530.5(A)-Getting Credit/etc. with Others ID,PC4573-Bringing a Controlled Substance into a Jail Facility, PC29800(A)(1)-Felon in Possession of a Firearm
 
LOCATION:    9500 Etiwanda Ave, Rancho Cucamonga
 
SUSPECT(S): Kristal Carter, 30 years old, resident of Colton
Gary Nettles, 62 years old, resident of Rialto
 
SUMMARY:
On January 16, 2020 at 5:30 p.m., Deputy Chen contacted a vehicle occupied by Kristal Carter and Gary Nettles at the front gate of West Valley Detention Center. Chen asked the two individuals for identification and ran their information through the warrant system, in which both were shown to have active felony warrants. Deputies Chen and Wilson detained Carter and Nettles and conducted a search of their vehicle. During this search, deputies recovered a loaded semi-automatic firearm, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, United States currency and a variety of checks and credit cards.
 
Carter and Nettles told deputies they were at the jail to put money on an inmate's account.
 
Kristal Carter was booked into custody for PC530.5(A)-Getting Credit/etc. with Others ID and warrants. During the booking process, deputies found Carter had concealed 3.5 grams of methamphetamine on her person. Bail is set at $135,000.  
 
Gary Nettles was booked into custody for PC29800(A)(1)-Felon in Possession of a Firearm and warrants and bail is set at $250,000.
