INCIDENT: PC 182 (A)(1) / PC 211 – Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery

LOCATION: 7-11 Convenience Store - 7900 Haven Ave., Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT: Nichole King, 33-years-old of Fontana
Simranjit “Steven” Singh, 25-years-old of Fontana

SUMMARY:

On Sunday, January 12, 2020 at about 9:44 p.m., Singh called 911 from his place of employment, a 7-11 Convenience Store, and reported he was just robbed at gunpoint by an unknown male.
Deputies responded to the location and began their investigation. Detectives later found inconsistencies in Singh’s statements and the evidence located at the scene. Through further investigation, detectives identified the robbery suspect as Singh’s girlfriend, Nichole King.

On Thursday, January 16, 2020, detectives contacted Singh and King at Singh’s residence in the City of Fontana. A search warrant was served where detectives located evidence linking both Singh and King to the planning and execution of the robbery. It was found that Singh and King planned the staged robbery in an attempt to steal money from Singh’s employer.

Singh and King were placed under arrest for PC 182(a)(1) – Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. Both suspects were booked into the West Valley Detention Center where King is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail. Singh is being held without bail.

Both suspects will appear at the Rancho Superior Court on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 to be arraigned on criminal charges.
