On January 12, 2019 at 4:43 p.m. Novato Police Officers responded to an address in the 200 block of Fairway Drive after a resident called and reported that several males were attempting to break into the resident’s home. The resident shouted out to the suspects who then fled the scene. The resident saw several  suspects get into an older model, black colored Mercedes with dark tinted windows and drive away from the area. The resident also provided the responding officers with surveillance video from the residence which captured the suspect’s clothing description and actions. The suspects all appear to be young males who wore a variety of dark clothing and gloves while attempting to burglarize the resident’s home.
 
The same suspects and vehicle are believed to be associated to a residential burglary that occurred in the Marinwood area of unincorporated Marin County shortly after this incident took place in Novato. The suspects were not apprehended. However,  The Novato Police Department was able to obtain video from a surveillance system installed at that residence in Marinwood. Novato Police Detectives are coordinating an investigation with the Marin County Sheriff’s Office concerning these two incidents. We have included images from both locations for the public to view.
