On January 12, 2020, at 2:45 a.m. Deputy Michael Rose observed a Red Saturn SUV run over a curve at Fast Tracks Gas Station located on East Broadway in Princeton. Upon initiating a traffic stop on Main Street near Mulberry Deputy Rose identified the driver as 26-year-old Javier Lopez-Velasquez of Princeton. During a roadside investigation Deputy Rose ran Mr. Velasquez through the National Crime Information Center and Indiana Data And Communications System and discovered that Mr. Velasquez had never been issued a valid operators license. At the conclusion of his investigation Deputy Rose placed Mr. Velasquez into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Operator Never Licensed. He has since posted a $450 bond.

Assisting Deputy Rose in his investigation was Deputy Loren Barchett and Princeton Officers Dan Goedde and Sgt. Travis Lashbrook.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
