PRESS RELEASE UPDATE - Double Homicide case from 11/23/19
On 11/23/19 at approximately 01:26 AM, UCPD began receiving multiple 911 calls from citizens reporting gun shots heard in the area of Sherman Drive and Colgate Drive in Union City. Officers responded to the area and located two male victims who had suffered suspected gunshot wounds. The victims were in a parking lot belonging to Searles Elementary School (located near the 1800 block of Sherman Drive). One fourteen-year-old victim was pronounced deceased at the scene and an eleven-year-old victim was pronounced deceased while in route to a local trauma center.

January 10, 2020 - Case UPDATE 
The investigation has yielded a possible description of the vehicle used by the suspects. The vehicle is described as a silver Toyota sedan similar to a mid to late-2000’s model Camry or Corolla.

Double Homicide
Union City, CA – On November 23, 2019 at approximately 01:26 AM, Union City PD Dispatch began receiving multiple 911 calls from citizens reporting gun shots heard in the area of Sherman Drive and Colgate Drive in Union City.
 
Officers responded to the area and located two male victims who had suffered suspected gunshot wounds. The victims were found in a parking lot belonging to Searles Elementary School (located near the 1800 block of Sherman Drive).

One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene and the other victim was pronounced deceased while in route to a local trauma center. The victims have yet to be identified and there are no suspects in custody.

Sherman Drive is closed between Colgate Drive and 15th Street due to this investigation. The street closure is estimated to last for several hours.
