Advisory

$10,000 reward renewed for info leading to arrest of driver of 2018 fatal hit and run collision. Can you help?

On August 4, 2018, Mr. Rodney Richard was struck by a vehicle while he was standing next to another car on Lancaster Boulevard near Elm Avenue. A full size, white GMC or Chevrolet truck, 2015 to 2018, 2500 or 3500 model with chrome accents, struck Mr. Richard and fled the scene without rendering aid. Sadly, Mr. Richard succumbed to his injuries. In 2018, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a $10,000 reward for anyone who could provide information leading to the arrest of the driver.

While it has been more than a year since the incident, Lancaster Station Traffic Detectives have not ceased in their efforts to bring justice for Mr. Richard. They continue to work endlessly, following every tip and lead they receive. Yesterday, thanks to the recommendation of Supervisor Kathryn Barger, the $10,000 reward was renewed.

We ask our residents to once again take a look at the pictures of the actual vehicle and search their minds and hearts. If you or anyone you know has any information on this vehicle, please speak up. If you noticed a vehicle of this kind with traffic collision damage sometime around August of 2018, if you noticed a vehicle of this kind in an auto body shop, if you heard someone mention any details of a pedestrian being struck, we ask that you give us a call. Mr. Rodney Richard deserves justice and we hope we can provide that for him and his family. Again, there is a $10,000 reward for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the driver. Let it be known that our Detectives will not give up until this driver is identified and forced to face the consequences of their actions.

If you have any information, please contact Detective Ryan Bodily at (661) 948-8466 or anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1800-222-8477 (TIPS).
