Public Works
 
Projects—

• Pearl Street Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program Improvements – The contractor has provided temporary backfill adjacent to the sidewalk for safety reasons.  Due to weather, that area will be fully restored in the Spring. All street lights have been installed.  The contractor will continue wiring.  Final connection will be performed by ComEd.  The RE and contractor have been in contact with ComEd for service.  All road construction signs have been removed.  The contractor will provide construction signs only on the days that they will be working from this point forward.  The project is 95% complete.

 
Street Division—

• Crews removed and trimmed 18 trees this week that were either dead or creating a hazard.
• Staff contracted with an outside firm to complete a city-wide sidewalk survey to locate any uneven panels that need repair. The survey identified 440 uneven panels. Crews have been using a concrete grinder to evenly grind down the panels, and thus far, over 200 uneven panels have been repaired.

 
 
Police

During this time period the McHenry Police Department:

• Handled 491 calls for service
• Investigated 12 Motor Vehicle Accidents
• Conducted 171 Traffic Stops
• Conducted over 137 Business Checks and Foot Patrols
• Handled 5 calls for service involving Domestic Disputes
• Handled 5 calls for service involving crisis intervention
• Arrested 6 individuals on State criminal charges

• Telecommunicator Christine Dawson –  12 Years
• Officer Christina Noyes – 9 Years

 
Public Relations:
 
Officers from the McHenry Police Department, along with Deputies from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, participated in a Coffee With A Cop event at Starbucks, 4305 W. Elm Street.  Members of the public met with the officers to ask questions about their agencies and gain knowledge of each department’s activities.  These events are intended to be an informal way the community can interact with law enforcement.
