INCIDENT: FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION

VICTIM: Name withheld pending notification of next of kin
On January 9, 2020 at about 10:25 AM, Pomona Police Dispatch received a call of a major traffic collision in the area of Pomona Blvd and Pacific St. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a vehicle collided into a parked vehicle. Officers located the driver, and sole occupant, in grave condition. LA County Fire arrived on scene and quickly transported the victim to a local trauma center. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Police were not able to locate any witnesses to the collision. At this time, it appears the vehicle was travelling westbound on Pomona Blvd, when it lost control. The vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane of travel before striking a legally parked vehicle. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor at this time.
