Man in today's Monticello Drive, Hilton Head Island fatal fire identified as 57-year-old Thomas Botelho. 
This afternoon, Sheriff's Office deputies and personnel from the Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue responded to a report of a fire at a single-family home on Monticello Drive, Hilton Head Island. Firefighters extinguished the house fire and found a deceased man inside of the residence. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division arson/fire investigators responded to assist the Sheriff's Office in determining the cause of the fire.
Tonight, the Beaufort County Coroner's Office identified the deceased man in today's fire as 57-year-old Thomas Botelho, who resided at the Monticello Drive residence. A forensic autopsy is scheduled to be conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina on Friday, which should aid in the determination of Botelho's cause/manner of death. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
