SUBJECT: Retirement of K9 Thor and the Acceptance of K9 Valkyrie

Angels Camp Police Department K9 Thor officially retired last night at the City Council meeting. K9 Thor joined the Angels Camp Police Department in 2016 after working for the Stockton Police Department. Thor is now 9 years old and will enjoy his retirement with his handler, Angels Camp Police Department Officer McDearmid, as her loving pet.
The City Council also accepted and swore in the newest 4-legged member of the Angels Camp Police Department, 3 year old Belgian Malinois, K9 Valkyrie. K9 Valkyrie was donated to the City of Angels Camp by the Angels Camp Police Department K9 Association. K9 Valkyrie will be partnered with Officer McDearmid.
