Single vehicle accident nets arrest of impaired driver.
On January 7, 2019, at 6:52 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of an accident on State Road 68 near West Street in Haubstadt, Indiana. Upon arriving Deputy Garrett Tuley began an investigation into the single vehicle accident where a truck had struck a utility pole. While speaking to 67-year-old Richard Lamb of Evansville, who was driving a Black 2016 Dodge Ram that was involved in the accident, Deputy Tuley detected the odor of alcohol. At that point Deputy Tuley began a DUI investigation that resulted in Mr. Lamb being taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Lamb was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. He has since posted a $650 bond.
All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
