Jorge Hernandez was arrested for mail/package theft after an alert resident notified deputies of the theft

LOCATION: 7700 Block of Elm St, Highland
SUSPECT: Jorge Hernandez, 29 years old, resident of Highland
SUMMARY:
On January 6, 2020 at 1:33 p.m. deputies from the Highland Sheriff's Station responded to the incident location reference a suspect, identified as Jorge Hernandez, stealing packages from the victim's mail box. The victim observed Hernandez stealing their packages and obtained a license plate of his vehicle, a red Chevy minivan. The victim confronted Hernandez and recovered their property. Deputies located Hernandez and the vehicle at his residence in the City of Highland. Hernandez was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center on charges of P.C. 530.5(e) - Mail / Package Theft.
