12/01/2019 *Harassment / Trespass Warnings
Hilltop – After mediating a neighbor dispute, an Officer issued trespass notices to all parties involved.

12/02/2019 *Larceny by Trick
Emerald Circle- A victim reported that after meeting someone online, the suspect stated he lived in a nearby suburb, but was stuck out of the country and in need of funds. The victim was asked to purchase gift cards to provide monetary assistance. After sending the requested funds via gift cards, the victim received another request for money and eventually was asked to provide a credit card number. The victim realized she was being conned and did not share her credit card number. The case remains under investigation.

12/03/2019 *Arrest – Driving on a Suspended License
Barker & Turquoise – Officers observed an equipment violation and upon a traffic stop, the Officer discovered the drivers’ license was suspended and the vehicle had no insurance. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was given a misdemeanor appearance ticket.

12/06/2019 *B & E Garage
200 block of Northfield Church – A resident reported that sometime between Monday Dec 2 at 8 pm and Friday Dec 6, 3:45pm an unknown subject entered the resident’s unsecured garage and removed a wheel barrel, power tools and stereo. The case remains under investigation.

REMEMBER: Keep all structures closed and locked as the post holiday season brings about more desire for people to help themselves to your property. Securing homes, garages and vehicles lessen theft opportunities.

12/07/2019 *Driving an Uninsured Vehicle
Whitmore Lake & 8 Mile Rd – An officer on patrol observed a vehicle without taillights. Upon stop of this vehicle it was discovered that the vehicle was being driven without insurance. The vehicle was impounded and the driver released.

12/14/2019 *Arrest-Fugitive Warrants
Dartmoor & Main St –During a traffic stop for expired plates, an Officer discovered the driver had outstanding warrants. The driver was arrested and turned over to the jurisdiction holding the warrants. In addition, the vehicle was not insured and the vehicle was impounded.

12/15/2019 *Arrest-Fugitive Warrant
Emerald Circle –While officers were investigating a complaint, the suspect became loud and disruptive to the investigation. After speaking to the verbally disruptive subject, Officers discovered he had a warrant out for his arrest. The subject was arrested and turned over to the jurisdiction holding the warrant.

12/16/2019 *Arrest Fugitive Felony Warrant
Whitmore Lake Rd – After receiving information on a wanted subject, Officers located and arrested the subject. The subject was turned over to the jurisdiction holding the warrant.

12/17/20196 *Fraud – Larceny by Trick
9200 Block of Earhart – A victim received a call advising her that she won millions and a car through Publishers Clearing House. The victim was instructed that she needed to pay the taxes on her winnings – the caller than convinced the victim to purchase gift cards and a cashier’s check. The gift card codes were than given to the caller. After the victim sent the cashier’s check the victim became suspicious, reporting the incident to Northfield Twp Police. The investigating officer was able to assist the victim in stopping the cashier’s check from reaching the suspect. The victim was further advised to review her credit report for any suspicious activity.

Be aware of Scams – NEVER pay any unsolicited offers with gift cards!!!

12/18/2019 *Arrest-Fugitive Warrant
8 Mile Rd –While investigating a family trouble, the Officer located the subject involved in the incident; the subject had an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody. The subject was turned over to the jurisdiction holding the warrant.

12/19/2019 *Home Invasion – Domestic Violence
8800 Block of Garfield – A known acquaintance arrived and entered a residence uninvited. The suspect disapproving of a relationship got into a physical altercation with a guest and his former girlfriend at the residence. The altercation was stopped by the homeowner. The investigation led officers to submit the report to the prosecutor’s office.

12/23/2019 *Home Invasion / Larceny from Auto
2000 Block of Nollar – A complainant reported that sometime between 12/20/2019 4:30pm and 12/23/2019 0800 am an unknown suspect pried open a residence under construction. No additional damage or property appeared to be missing from the residence. However, a construction utility trailer on site was also pried open and power tools taken.

12/23/2019 *Identity Theft
9000 Block of Butternut – A resident reported that her identity including Social Security number was used to open a cable account at an address in Las Vegas. The complainant stated she has never lived in Las Vegas. A police report was filed at the direction of the collection agency. The responding officer advised the complainant to run a credit check.

12/26/2019 *Trespass Notice Served
Diamond Circle – A homeowner requested a regularly uninvited guest be given a trespass notice to not return to the property. Contact was made with the subject involved and the notice served.

12/28/2019 *Larceny – Property Recovered
Westbrook – Officers investigating an incident were given suspected stolen property. Officers were able to locate the owner who confirmed the property was taken without his permission. The property was returned to the owner and the case forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

12/31/2019 * Malicious Destruction of Property
Coyle – A homeowner reported that sometime between 10:00 am and 12:00pm, a vehicle parked in his driveway had its’ rear car window broken out. No evidence, witnesses or suspects were developed at the time of the report.
