Officer performs lifesaving CPR measures on unresponsive bus passenger

On New Years Day at 5:18 p.m.an Emeryville Police Officer was on patrol and was flagged down by an AC Transit bus driver at the intersection of San Pablo Ave. and Adeline St. The bus driver told the officer a passenger collapsed on the floor of the bus. The officer entered the bus and found the man was not breathing and had no pulse. The officer immediately began CPR. The male began breathing on his own and regained consciousness before being transported to a local hospital by ambulance for further medical evaluation and treatment.

Bystander CPR is a proven way to save lives. The Emeryville Police Department encourages everyone to learn hands only CPR. Please visit the website below for more information on how you can be a lifesaver.
