Flood Watch until 06:00PM Friday
The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a
* Flood Watch for portions of North Mississippi and West Tennessee, including the following areas, in North Mississippi, Alcorn, Benton, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee, Monroe, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tallahatchie, Tippah, Tishomingo, Union, and Yalobusha. In West Tennessee, Benton, Chester, Decatur, Hardeman, Hardin, Henderson, and McNairy.
* From Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon.
* Rainfall in the watch area will be in excess of 2 inches...some areas will see over 3 inches.
* Localized flooding and ponding of water will be possible in the watch area, not just near streams and rivers. Streams and rivers will also rise.
* AFFECTED AREAS: TIPPAH ... PRENTISS ... HARDEMAN ... DECATUR ... YALOBUSHA ... CALHOUN ... CHESTER ... LEE ... MONROE ... HENDERSON ... CHICKASAW ... LAFAYETTE ... MCNAIRY ... ITAWAMBA ... PONTOTOC ... TALLAHATCHIE ... TISHOMINGO ... UNION ... BENTON ... BENTON ... ALCORN ... HARDIN
