UPDATE - 6:00 PM
Suspects arrested! The suspect vehicle led East Palo Alto PD on a high speed chase across the Dunbarton Bridge, which terminated in Fremont at Post / Thornton. Both Fremont PD and EPA PD apprehended two suspects – a 21 year old male out of EPA and a 19 year old female out of Redwood City.
Detectives are actively working this case. A detailed press release will be put out tomorrow.
UPDATE - 3:12 PM
Officers on scene advised the suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his 20s, wearing a black hoodie and black pants. The relationship between the shooter and victim is unknown at this time. Also, officers are currently investigating what lead up to the shooting.
The victim has been transported to a local trauma center for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

On December 30, 2019 at 2:31 P.M., San Mateo Police Department officers responded to the parking lot of La Hacienda Market located at 201 N Amphlett Blvd where a person was determined to have suffered a gunshot wound. The victim is currently in stable condition.
Keep in mind, this is a developing situation and our commitment to you is transparency. Officers are on scene investigating the incident and information will be shared as it comes in.
