To help provide safe and reliable service to its customers, SMUD conducts helicopter safety inspections of its powerlines and electrical equipment. Residents should be advised of a planned helicopter landing Friday, December 27 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. at Econome Park, 1900 Parkway Drive, Folsom. SMUD will perform routine transmission line inspections and maintenance. The work requires temporary, intermittent road closures on Blue Ravine Road between Manseau Drive and Parkway Drive North, as well as closing of the Econome Park parking lot and fields during the time of the landing. Please make adjustments to your daily routes accordingly.
Here’s what to expect:

• The helicopter will be blue and its tail number is 167AL.
• Helicopter will be carrying loads from designated landing zones to transmission line towers.
• The helicopter may fly low, close to power lines and electrical equipment.
• The helicopter may hover above power lines while they inspect our equipment.
• Helicopter flights may change based on weather conditions.
