INDIANAPOLIS- December 26,2019 IMPD Homicide Detectives have arrested 23-year-old Brent Pitcock for the murder of 29-year-old Paul Scharbrough. Detectives believe an altercation between these two individuals at 1435 E. Washingtont St. led to Mr. Scharbrough's death.
Brent Pitcock was arrested soon after this incident for murder and booked into the Marion County Jail.

A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
INCIDENT TYPE: Homicide Investigation
INCIDENT LOCATION: 1435 East Washington Street
INDIANAPOLIS - On December 24, 2019, just after 12:21 p.m., officers were dispatched to 1435 East Washington Street for a person stabbed. Officers located an adult male unresponsive, suffering from an injury consistent with a stab wound. IEMS responded and transported the male to Eskenazi hospital in critical condition. Despite the best life saving techniques, the male later died of his injuries at the hospital.
Homicide detectives responded and immediately began canvassing the area for witnesses. Based on information the detectives have gathered, they believe a verbal altercation occurred between the victim and suspect just prior to the incident. Detectives believe this to be an isolated incident. The suspect fled the scene prior to the officers arriving at the scene.
The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death. The MCCO will release the name of the decedent once proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
