Sheriff Richard J. Behnke, reports that on 12/25/2019 at approximately 2013 hours his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred on Kelsey Lake Street near O'Keefe Road, in La Grange Township, Cass County Michigan. Mack Lyon Velthouse, 60 year old Cassopolis resident, was driving north bound on O'Keefe Rd and turning east onto Kelsey Lake St when he lost control of his vehicle, going through a curve, and striking a tree. Velthouse was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Velthouse was transported to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this investigation.
