Advisory

Rancho Cucamonga man arrested for numerous neighborhood package thefts.

DATE/TIME: December 23, 2019 / 3:32 p.m.

INCIDENT: PC 496(A) Possession of Stolen Property

LOCATION: 10800 Block of Church St.

SUSPECT: Ryan Siler, 27-years-old of Rancho Cucamonga

SUMMARY: On Monday, December 23, 2019, at about 3:32 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station responded to a call of a suspicious person stealing packages. The suspect stole packages from residents’ porches in the apartment community. The suspect was seen driving a newer model gray Honda Civic. Earlier in the day, deputies received additional reports about the same suspect stealing packages from different apartment complexes in the area.

When deputies arrived, they conducted an area check, but were unable to locate the suspect. Through investigation, deputies identified the suspect as Ryan Siler. When they arrived at Siler’s residence, deputies observed Siler unloading packages from his Honda Civic into his garage. Siler fled upstairs and into his apartment where he barricaded himself. Deputies gave Siler several commands to exit his residence, but he refused. After further negotiations, Siler emerged and was taken into custody.

A search warrant was served at Siler’s home and a substantial amount of stolen property was located inside the residence, garage, and his vehicle. Deputies believe Siler is responsible for numerous package thefts in the Rancho Cucamonga area and there are additional unidentified victims who have not reported these crimes. Anyone who has been the victim of a package theft and who has video surveillance of the incident is asked to review the footage. If you believe your theft is related to Siler, you are urged to contact the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department. If you choose to remain anonymous, call We Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME.
