On 12/21/2019 at approximately 1:15 P.M. the Janesville Police Department located and arrested the suspect in this incident. The investigation determined Willie J. Pritchard, a 31 year old Beloit man, was the suspect. Pritchard was located by a patrol officer driving in the area of Memorial Dr. and N. Washington Av. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted due to the possibility he was armed. Pritchard was taken into custody without incident. Pritchard was charged with Attempted Robbery and held at the Rock County Jail pending a court appearance.

Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3:6 Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

On 12-21-19 at 1:00 a.m. Janesville Police Department officers responded to the Stop-N-Go at 3515 E. Milwaukee for a report of an attempted armed robbery. It was reported to officers that a male armed with a handgun attempted to steal money from a female who was walking on the north side of the business. Further investigation revealed that the victim knew the suspect and this was not a random act. A suspect has been identified, but he has not been located yet. Investigation is on going.
