Police officers arrest gang members in possession of a firearm and drugs.

On 12/19/19, around 10:45pm, officers were patrolling the area of Grande Circle when they found a group of people drinking alcohol in a parking lot.  As a result of the people drinking alcohol in public, officers detained the subjects.  Officers discovered that some of the people were validated gang members and gang associates that were on probation or parole.  One of the gang members was a 19-year-old Fairfield resident, and was in possession of a loaded handgun that was concealed in his waistband.  One of the gang associates was a 22-year-old Fairfield resident, on parole.  He was in possession of over a pound of marijuana.  This amount of marijuana has a street value of approximately $1,000.  Both people were arrested and booked into jail.

This call illustrates the dangers faced by our officers while protecting our community.  Please work with the police by staying aware of what is going on in your neighborhood and calling the police when you see any crime occurring.
