Crimes Against Children Detectives arrested Derrick Palmer for Sending Harmful Matter to a Child

LOCATION: City of Yucaipa
SUSPECT: Derrick Palmer, 29 years old, resident of Oroville, California
SUMMARY:
Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Crimes Against Children Detail (CAC) began an investigation into Palmer. Palmer is a resident of Oroville and the victim resides in Yucaipa. During the investigation, investigators determined Palmer was sending images and messages, of a sexual nature, to the victim.
On Wednesday, December 18, 2019, personnel from the Butte County Sheriff's Department arrested Palmer in the city of Oroville and he was booked into the Butte County Detention Center. On Thursday, December 19, 2019, Palmer was transported to Central Detention Center in San Bernardino. CAC investigators interviewed Palmer and at the end of the interview, he was subsequently booked into Central Detention Center. Bail was set at $100,00.
