IMPD Homicide Detectives Arrest 16-year-old for Robbery and Murder.

 HOMICIDE ARREST: IMPD Homicide Detectives were granted an arrest warrant for 16-year-old Dejuan Taylor for Robbery and the Murder of 16-year-old Elijah Taylor. 
Dejuan Taylor was apprehended this morning without incident and taken to the Marion County Jail.
 
Dejuan Taylor has been charged as an adult. A copy of the probable cause affidavit can be obtained from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. The fact that the arrestee and the decedent share the same last name is coincidental, they are not related.

A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

INCIDENT LOCATION: 3530 Woodfront Ct.
 
INDIANAPOLIS -  Just after 3:00 p.m. on November 17, 2019 Officers with The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to 3530 Woodfield Ct. in response to a 911 caller stating they heard gunshots and someone was down at that location. When Officers arrived they located a male who was unresponsive and suffering from apparent gunshot wound(s)  IEMS responded and declared the male deceased.
 
Homicide Detectives responded and immediately began canvassing the area for witnesses. 
Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) assisted and will determine the exact manner and cause of death.
